In collective litigation, thousands of people appear across court rulings and files submitted by different parties. The challenge is to extract that data with AI assistance, then match people automatically across sources before preparing compensation calculations.
Approach
A tailored platform deployed in the client’s environment follows the same people from appeal through judgment, despite versions exchanged by lawyers, the defence, experts and judges. AI extracts data from PDF rulings; imports identify relevant columns in each spreadsheet and match people across sources. Expert assessments feed calculations covering damages, expenses, provisional payments and currencies. Teams review uncertain cases and corrections; source data and recorded decisions remain available.
Impact
For each person, teams can find the sources, medical assessments, observations, original and retained figures, and the details of calculations and corrections. They can review case files and prepare tables for the judgment without mistaking a working calculation for a judicial decision.
